My photography history
Photography has always been a passion of mine since I was given my first camera at the age of around 10, with its magical blue disposable flashbulbs!
After a disastrous fling with a Kodak 110 (what was I thinking?), I moved up to a Zenit manual SLR for a few years.
That persuaded me that an SLR was the way to go, so I purchased a Yashica FX-D. A fantastic camera that served me well for more than 25 years, and was only retired due to my wish to switch to digital.
My first experience of digital was not, however, a good one, as the Sony point-and-shoot I (stupidly) bought on impulse was good at pointing, but not at shooting, with a terrible shutter-lag.
However, I liked the instant results and the ability to import into my PC. So after much research, in October 2005 I purchased a Canon EOS-20D digital SLR and haven't looked back.
After ten years' valiant service, the Canon EOS-20D suffered a terminal fault, and was quickly replaced by a Canon EOS-70D in September 2015.
